PRINCE SHINING ARMOR

Shining is a unicorn stallion and Prince of the Crystal Kingdom. He is married to Princess Cadance whom he met as teenager in Canterlot. They got engaged after graduating, and married soon after he was promoted to Captain of the Royal Guard, the youngest pony ever to reach that rank. While Cadance was an alicorn princess, Shining did not gain the title of Prince until the two were sent to the newly reappeared Crystal Empire where they became its rulers.

Shining is one of Prince Mark Wells' circle of male friends. He supported Equestria in its defense against Grogar, and also puts his powerful shield spells to use when exploring the multiverse with Mark.

Shining is the father of two pegacorn daughters: Flurry Heart and Skyla, and a unicorn filly named Camellia. He also has a changeling son named Crystal Shield who takes the appearance of a pegacorn colt.

Shining has a counterpart in an alternate universe who married Princess Chrysalis as well as Cadance.

He also has counterparts in the anthro universe, the Griffquestria universe, and the reverse-gender universe where she is a mare married to stallion Cadance.
