PRINCESS MI AMORE CADENZA a.k.a. CADANCE

Mi Amore Cadenza is an alicorn mare who almost never uses her formal name. She is universally known simply as Cadance to everyone despite being the Princess of the Crystal Kingdom.

Cadance was born a pegasus but ascended as a teenager when she defeated a threat to her hometown through the extraordinary power of her special talent, becoming the Alicorn of Love. She was taken under the wing of Princess Celestia who nurtured the young mare, instructing her in royal protocol on top of a first class education at a prestigious Canterlot school. She was encouraged to become the foalsitter of another of Celestia's special students, Twilight Sparkle. At her house, she first met Twilight's older brother, Shining Armor. The colt went to the same school as Cadance and a relationship gradually grew between the two. Upon graduation, Shining proposed and Cadance accepted.

Their engagement lasted a few years while Shining joined the Royal Guard and rose through the ranks. When he was promoted to Captain of the Guard, he had sufficient rank to satisfy the nobility, allowing him to marry Cadance. Cadance soon fell pregnant and went into labor as she officiated the wedding of Mark Wells and Princess Trixie, completely disrupting the ceremony. She gave birth to a pegacorn filly they named Flurry Heart. A few years later, she had another foal, another pegacorn who was named Skyla. In between them though, Cadance and Shining Armor adopted a changeling hybrid colt named Shiny Button who was later renamed Crystal Shield. She has since had a third daughter, a unicorn this time whom they named Camellia. Cadance has provided tips on ruling and emotional support to Mark Wells, not to mention relationship advice. She also supported Equestria in its fight against Grogar.

Cadance has a counterpart in an alternate universe who married Princess Chrysalis as well as Shining Armor. She also has counterparts in the anthro universe, the reverse-gender universe, and the Griffquestria universe.
