KING THORAX

Thorax is an evolved royal changeling and King of the Crystal Hive changelings.

Thorax first met Mark Wells when the drone was still unevolved and was a refugee in Ponyville after Queen Chrysalis’ disastrous attempt to invade Canterlot. The Cutie Mark Crusaders had found the injured changeling and took him in as one of their own, using the guise of a unicorn colt named Blue Agate. Mark took Thorax to meet Twilight Sparkle as a friendship problem. Although Twilight was first suspicious of him, she got to know the friendly changeling, learning about his kind, and gradually developed a relationship with him. He was elevated into a royal changeling by Queen Carpacia and took over the Crystal Hive after the defeat of Chrysalis.

Thorax married Twilight and they have a hybrid son whom they named Regis Novellus. Thorax has the ability to evolve regular changeling drones whose wings have started sparkling due to reaching the state where the process can change place. He has a brother named Pharynx.
