PRINCESS TWILIGHT SPARKLE

Twilight Sparkle is an alicorn mare with a light purple coat and dark blue mane & tail with red and purple stripes. She is the daughter of Night Light and Twilight Velvet, and the sister of Shining Armor.

Twilight is the Bearer of the Element of Magic which, in combination with the five other Elements worn by Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Applejack Apple, defeated Nightmare Moon and restored Princess Luna.

Twilight was born a unicorn and ascended to alicornhood after creating new magic. After challenging Princess Trixie for the throne of Equestria, she lost but was invited to join Trixie as co-ruler which she accepted.

Twilight was introduced to a changeling named Thorax by Mark Wells. She was suspicious of him at first but after learning more about him and his kind, she began to grow closer with him. He eventually proposed and she accepted. She unexpectedly fell pregnant to him and she gave birth to a hybrid son whom they named Regis Novellus.

Twilight has a counterpart in the anthro world who coordinates official affairs between the universes. Her castle is often used for the benefit of interdimensional travelers.

She also has a male counterpart in the reverse gender universe – Prince Twilight!
