ZESTY GOURMAND

Zesty is a unicorn mare who is a Canterlot food and restaurant critic. She used her influence to impose her very narrow and biased view on what a restaurant should look like and the meals they should serve in order to gain the 3-hoof rating that was necessary to gaining customers in the famous Restaurant Row. This stranglehold on the dining scene worked to the detriment of variety and innovation and was not broken until Saffron Masala and Coriander Cumin opened the Tasty Treat. Although Zesty refused to rate the restaurant, through the efforts of Prince Mark Wells and Starlight Glimmer, the restaurant was brought to the attention of the public and overrode the perception that the business needed a rating from Zesty, making the Tasty Treat one of the most popular restaurants in Canterlot. This emboldened the owners of the other restaurants to break from Zesty's grasp.
