FLUTTERSHY

Fluttershy is a yellow pegasus mare with a pink mane and tail, daughter of Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles. She is also the foalhood friend of Rainbow Dash.

Fluttershy is the Bearer of the Element of Kindness which, in combination with the five other Elements worn by Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Rarity Belle, and Applejack Apple, defeated Nightmare Moon and restored Princess Luna.

Although extremely shy and self-effacing, Fluttershy nevertheless has been instrumental in saving Equestria more than once. She has one potent weapon known as The Stare which is capable of cowing even the fiercest of creatures. Most of the time though, she lives a peaceful quiet life in a cottage at the edge of the Everfree Forest tending to the needs of injured animals.

It is suspected that Fluttershy has batpony in her bloodline because a careless magical accident transformed her into one. It affected her mindset, making her aggressive and leaving her with an obssession for apples. It also gave her a sexual fixation on Prince Mark Wells which manifested during Mating Season. Although she had ostensibly been restored to normal, she reverted while in heat and tried to force herself upon him. She has since been cured of this curse.

Fluttershy has an excellent singing voice. She loves to sing with The Ponytones although, due to her shyness, only to very small audiences of her friends. Ironically, she also has a a great bass voice which she once used to fill in for Big Macintosh, one of the other members of the Ponytones who had lost his voice. Her ability to do so is due to exposure to the magical poison joke flower.

When Princess Celestia arranged to have Discord released from his stone prison, the Element Bearers were tasked with trying to reform him. It was by Fluttershy's efforts mostly that convinced him the value of having friends. The shy pegasus and draconequus's relationship grew into something a lot deeper, and the two eventually married. They subsequently had a foal they named Medley – a lilac-hued pegasus with a bright yellow mane and tail streaked with red and black. She also has a distinctive snaggle tooth like her sire.

Fluttershy has a counterpart in the anthro universe.
