GALLUS

Gallus is a male blue griffon. He was one of the first interspecies students attending Twilight Sparkle's School of Friendship. He was sent there by Princess Gilda because he was an orphan and she felt that he would do better than back in Griffonstone. At the school he met up and made friends with Sandbar, Ocellus, Silverstream, Yona, and Smolder.

Gallus and his five friends were instrumental in preventing the theft of all Equestrian magic due to Cozy Glow's machinations.

When Hearth's Warming came around and his friends left for home for the holidays, he did not wish to do the same. When Prince Mark Wells learned that he had no family, he decided to adopt the young griffon. Gallus was nearly overcome with joy to finally have a place to call home and with people who cared about his welfare.

As the years passed, Gallus and Mark's relationship grew into a genuine father-son one. He also grew closer to his friend, Smolder, and when they graduated, they got engaged to be married. Gallus's ambition is to one day be Captain of the Royal Guard, and he is currently working his way up the ranks as he receives no unearned status through nepotism. However, he does get advice from former Captain of the Guard and friend of the family, Shining Armor on how best to achieve his goal.

Gallus has a pet timberwolf named Twiggy that he raised from a pup. Because it grew up with Harmony magic instead of the dark magic of the Everfree Forest, Twiggy is a playful and friendly magic beast.
